Dzibilchaltún Archaeological Site: the Temple of the Seven Dolls

Dzibilchaltún was one of the great urban centers of northern Yucatán and one of the oldest Maya cities, inhabited from 500 BC to 1500 AD. It is just 15 km from Mérida and preserves 12 sacbes radiating from its center.

  • Temple of the Seven Dolls – famous because at the equinoxes the sun aligns with its doorways, an astronomical spectacle.
