Oxkintok, “the city of the three flint suns,” is one of the oldest Maya cities in western Yucatán. It developed its own style that gave rise to Proto-Puuc, and holds one of the most fascinating enigmas in the region.
What to see
- Tzat Tun Tzat – the “labyrinth,” a unique structure of passages and chambers.
- Plaza del Arco – where at the equinoxes the sun aligns with its center.
- Ancient stelae and palaces.

Its labyrinth and astronomical alignment make it unique, and its proximity to the Calcehtok Caves allows a full excursion of history and nature.
