Mahahual, on the Costa Maya (southern Quintana Roo), is a small, laid-back town facing the reef, with a sandy boardwalk, calm water and very few crowds outside cruise days. Ideal for those seeking an authentic Caribbean, diving and total disconnection. Most hotels are small and not all-inclusive.
