Kinichná, known as “the House of the Sun,” is a small yet notable settlement next to Dzibanché, of which it was part. Its great pyramidal acropolis offers one of the best jungle views in southern Quintana Roo.
What to see
- The Acropolis – a pyramidal complex that also served as a tomb for high dignitaries.
- Jade offerings – some of the finest jade pieces in the region were found here.
Why it is special
Its proximity to Dzibanché lets you combine both visits, and from its summit you take in the green sea of the jungle. A quiet corner full of history.
